Talk Title

Dr. CSLove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Learned to Love Change

Abstract

Since my first job, I have been hearing that we aren’t going to need computer scientists, and that code was going to write itself. This has been a persistent theme throughout the past nearly 40 years (and probably before that). Some CS students may be fearing that their jobs may be at risk from AI. In reality, what we have seen so far is that we are able to solve bigger and more complex problems. I’ll talk about why I think that trend will persist and that you too, can not just accept this fast-paced field but learn to embrace it.
