Job: Mine Geologist – i-80 Gold

Position: Mine Geologist The Mine Geologist is responsible for underground ore control and mapping activities, assisting with underground drilling programs, and rc/core logging. Daily functions will align with and reflect the company’s values.

Location: Granite Creek Mine, 6750 Getchell Mine Road, Golconda, NV

Responsibilities

• Daily underground mapping of advanced headings • Perform underground channel sampling and material type routing. • Supervise sample collection for accuracy and consistency, timely delivery to lab. • Production data entry in Acquire. • Update digital data in mapping medium for use in geologic and estimation model. • Perform drill programs designs for diamond core and reverse circulation drilling using Vulcan software. • Support diamond and RC drilling activities through drill and drill station inspections. • Geologic and geotechnical data collection from drill core and RC chips. • Attends and participates in daily/weekly safety meetings. • Compile and validate drilling data; including assay results, downhole survey, geology logging and QAQC and other data collected during drilling. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Geology required. • Excellent safety record required. • One to three years of professional experience in the mining industry. • Ability to work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required. • Capable of utilizing latest computer & software technologies such as Microsoft Office products and mining programs such as Vulcan, Leapfrog and Acquire. • Highly effective organizational and time management skills. • Ability to take initiative and work independently in a results-oriented environment. • Experience with logging diamond drill core and RC Chips. • Underground mining experience preferred. • Knowledge or experience in Carlin Type deposits. • Understanding of mining operations and drill techniques preferred. • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment. • Ability to walk up, down, and over rough terrain. • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. throughout the day How to Apply: Please refer to the Careers page on our website for instructions on how to apply. Position Overview

We are seeking a summer intern. The desired area of interest is Mine Engineering.  The intern season will begin between mid-May/early June 2025 and run through August 2025. The location is in Monroe, MI.

To qualify for the intern program you must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school.  Most of our intern positions will work in outdoor and indoor conditions.  Interns must be 18 years or older and able to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

  • Collaborates and conducts with others geographical exploration by reviewing maps and drilling logs to determine location, size, accessibility and estimated volumes of deposits
  • Assists in determining long-range planning designs and data
  • Ability to detect safety hazards and respond accordingly.
  • Adhere to any and all state and federal regulations, if applicable, as set forth by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency
  • Operate sUAV for mine planning, topography mapping and stripping calculations.
  • Quality Control/Quality Assurance
  • Spend time in field operations for aggregates
  • Work with operations on monthly projections
  • Shadow operations personnel to learn operational planning and aggregate objectives
  • Work with crews and managers on blasting operations

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate must be currently enrolled in a college degree program related to the industry and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 or better
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check
  • Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements
  • Must have or be willing to obtain MSHA New Miner Training, And FAA Part 107 Certification for sUAV Operator
  • Must have the ability to work without close supervision
  • High ethical standards
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Capable of utilizing the internet effectively for research and evaluation
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
