Covia is seeking motivated and high-potential recent college graduates to join our New Graduate Trainee Program, an immersive 18-month development experience designed to build future leaders across our U.S. plant network. This rotational program offers real-world, hands-on exposure to plant operations, production, quality, maintenance, safety, and supply chain.

Trainees will complete structured assignments in key functional areas and work closely with experienced plant leaders to develop their technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Upon successful completion, trainees will transition into a full-time role.

The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Rotate through 5 core functional areas: HSE, Mining/Quality, Operations & Supply Chain, Maintenance, Parts, Inventory.
  • Participate in hands-on training and shadowing across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Contribute to daily production, maintenance, lab, and shipping activities
  • Support plant safety inspections, quality testing, equipment troubleshooting, and process improvement projects
  • Complete technical certifications (MSHA, Lean Basics)
  • Deliver a plant-wide capstone project with measurable business impact
  • Work collaboratively with plant operators, technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional leaders
  • Receive quarterly feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations

Program Details:

  • Duration: 18 months
  • Start Date: June 1, 2026

The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineer, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Graduation within the last 0–2 years
  • Previous internship, co-op, or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to relocate and work flexible hours/shifts
  • High level of initiative, teamwork, and safety awareness
