Our client is looking for a resourceful and collaborative Mining Engineer to join a fast-paced underground operation. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in both the technical and operational aspects of mining — someone equally comfortable using mine planning software and walking the headings to shape practical, effective plans.

Working closely with operational leaders, this role bridges long-term planning and real-time execution, requiring strong communication skills, a growth mindset, and a passion for innovative problem-solving.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Providing technical engineering support across all planning horizons — short-, mid-, and long-term
  • Developing practical mine plans in collaboration with mine operations and technical services teams
  • Creating forecasting models and budgets using tools like Deswik (preferred)
  • Contributing to underground development and production planning, including backfill and stope design
  • Supporting ventilation planning and performance monitoring
  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders across operations, safety, HR, and supply chain
  • Promoting and maintaining high safety and quality standards in all engineering practices
  • Participating in ongoing initiatives focused on continuous improvement and operational efficiency

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of mining experience, ideally in underground operations
  • Experience with mine planning and scheduling software — Deswik highly preferred
  • Familiarity with MSHA and environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Deswik, Leapfrog, and Xeras
  • Ability to manage time effectively and reprioritize as needed in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Rate / Salary 120,000 – 150,000 per Year
