RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:Reserve Management and Geological Interpretation
- Travel to LNA locations to study, examine and identify geological formations
- Study the composition, structure, chemical and physical properties of limestone ore to provide geologic interpretation and support
- Estimation of reserve base for LNA Mining Operations
- Lead in reserve acquisition strategy
- Assist economic evaluation of acquisition targets
Exploration
- Assist in the exploration and geologic reconnaissance
- Field Mapping, drilling, coring, zone definition
- Update and maintain new and existing geologic interpretations
Mining Team
- Provide geologic support for the mining teams at specific quarry sites
- Assist team in the interpretation and modeling of areas of responsibility
- Development of knowledge of all geologic issues and key quality parameters
- Travel to remote locations to provide on-site support
Continuous Improvement of Mining Practice
- Constantly improve and develop geologic interpretation and model
- Lead quality optimization and improve utilization of the natural resource
- Ensure full possible utilization of the natural resource
ATTRIBUTES:
- Working Knowledge of Geology including foundational concepts and principles
- Demonstrated data, word processing computing skills
- Ability to analyze, correlate and evaluate thematic map data and records; prepare maps, graphics, data printouts and written reports; use computer to enter and process text data files; maintain effective working relationships with others; formulate ideas and present them clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Positive and proactive attitude with an ability to address issues and implement solutions
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to be hands-on and not afraid to perform other work
- Must be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, if needed.

- Must have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision, capable of independent action within the range of the general instructions, policies, and standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Must be physically able to perform the work assigned.
- Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperatures, noise, and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and access tunnels.
- Will be working in both an office environment and in a mining process environment.
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Walking on Uneven Surfaces, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel up to 25% at times or as directed by leadership
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Natural or Physical Sciences
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
- Master’s degree, professional registration or ability to obtain (PE, PS, PG, or similar)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5+ years geology experience in a surface or underground mining environment in the limestone, minerals, coal and/or related industries.
