Responsibilities:
- Conducting routine monitoring events such as installing pressure transducers and measuring water levels
- Track and maintain large monitoring networks
- Collecting samples and using field instruments to monitor hydrologic conditions (groundwater, stormwater, surface water)
- Supporting and participating in site-characterization investigations, including geophysical surveys, well drilling oversight, geologic logging, groundwater sampling, and hydraulic testing events
- Collection of field data, evaluation, and interpretation of geologic data
- Developing and updating 3-D Geologic Models
- Development of maps in ArcGIS
- Documenting, managing, and analyzing data to develop graphical summaries and reports using Excel, PowerPoint, ArcGIS, and Word or equivalent software
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements for fieldwork
- Oversee work performed by subcontractors, to ensure work is completed in accordance with work plans, design drawings, specifications, and client expectations
- Interfacing with clients and communicating with the public
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geosciences, hydrogeology, or a related field
- Foundational knowledge of hydrogeology
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete routine tasks on schedule
- Document and maintain accurate and thorough records of field activities using forms and daily logs
- Previous experience with data evaluation and technical report preparation
- Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical topics through writing, presentations, and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams
- Travel to project sites for extended durations (up to 2–3 weeks at a time), as needed, requiring safe driving and flexibility for multi-week stays
- Professional Geologist (PG) licensure is an expected professional milestone for this role
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology
- Mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems (pumps, motors, blowers, generators, field instruments, etc.)
- Prior work experience with an environmental or engineering firm
- Basic understanding of level survey methods (rod & level, laser level, total station)
- Experience with drilling techniques and sample collection
- Experience with geographical information systems (GIS)
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
