Job Description:
General Objectives:
Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, this position will work with the Environmental team to support environmental compliance at the Marigold Mine.
Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties:
The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conducting surface water, ground water, soils, air quality and other environmental sampling & monitoring
- Administrative responsibilities such as maintaining documents and records, managing databases, and related tasks
- Inspecting reagent, petroleum, and other compliance managed storage areas.
- Prepare environmental compliance reports
- Training of site workforce in environmental issues and controls
- Assisting in oversight of environmental contractors and consultants
- Reporting to and interacting with government officials
Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree from a recognized university required, engineering degree preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the environmental/mining industry or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulatory programs such as CAA, CWA, RCRA
- Proficiency in standard computer software applications required
- Ability to work in unsupervised environment required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. required
- A safety-conscious and risk-aware mindset is required Experience presenting in front of groups preferred
- Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
