The Grand Canyon Chapter of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) is now accepting applications for its annual student scholarship program, and we would appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with eligible students.
This year, the Grand Canyon Chapter will award 18 scholarships totaling more than $30,000, including:
- 1 scholarship – $5,000
- 2 scholarships – $3,000
- 4 scholarships – $2,000
- 11 scholarships – $1,000
These scholarships support students pursuing degrees aligned with mining, minerals, engineering, geology, and other SME-related disciplines. The application collects academic, extracurricular, and professional information used to evaluate eligibility and select recipients.
How Students Apply
