They will collaborate closely with contractors, the survey team, and mine operations to ensure alignment and timely execution. Field activities such as in-pit surveying, ore delivery coordination, and execution of mine projects will be supported. Overall, they will ensure a safe efficient, and cost-effective implementation of mining plans while maintaining alignment with long-range strategies developed by the technical team. What You’ll Do

As a Mining Geologist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the success of our mining operations through hands-on geological assessments, strategic planning, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guide Mining Operations: Conduct face mapping and grade control sampling to steer efficient resource extraction.
  • Optimize Resources: Perform monthly volume and quality reconciliations to maximize ore recovery.
  • Support Drilling Programs: Assist with planning and overseeing core drilling operations, including detailed core logging.
  • Update Geological Models: Collaborate with the Division Geologist to integrate new drilling and testing data into block models.
  • Survey and Plan: Conduct surveys and calculate ore volumes to support mine planning and operations.
  • Contribute to Mine Planning: Partner with the Senior Mine Engineer to develop short- and long-term mine plans.
  • Ensure Compliance: Assist with MSHA quarry inspections and maintain accurate records for compliance and operational tracking.
  • Drive Innovation: Evaluate and implement new technologies and methods for geological assessments and surveying.
  • Lead and Collaborate: Work closely with external consultants, provide leadership to hourly workforce as needed, and support operational and project management tasks.
  • Step Up When Needed: Occasionally manage day-to-day mining operations, including weekend rotations, in the absence of the Mine Supervisor.
  • Support Capital Projects: Assist with CapEx requests and project implementation to enhance operations.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for geology and a drive to improve mining processes. You bring:

  • Self-Starter Mindset: Ability to independently lead projects from concept to completion.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in geological mapping, sampling, and core logging techniques.
