I would like to know if a reserved time is necessary in early July 2015 to view the Harold H. Heikkinen photo collection for Atlantic Mine. I was born and raised there and I see some of my family pictured in the Clarence Monette booklet published in 1993. Also I would like to know if you have any collections focused on Stanton Township, more specifically the Onnela area. Thanks for your response.

Hello – I’m looking for any info on John J Swetich (alternate spellings; Cvetic, Svetich) who worked at Quincy Min Co Hancock MI in 1942. He was born May 15, 1883 in Yugoslovia, and when he registered for the draft in 1942, lived at 3131 Tunnel St, Calumet MI. His wife’s name was Mary. John was a brother of my grand-father, Joseph. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me – Jim Sweet (12-13-2015).

    Hello,
I’m looking for any information about my great grandfather Karl Kukkola and his brother Johan Kukkola. Karl was born February 18th 1878 and died April 14th 1913. He migrated from Finland in early 1900s and worked as a miner in or near Calumet, Houghton. His brother John/Johan Kukkola was born in 1881 and migrated from Finland and arrived to New York June 14th 1902.
My great grandmothers brother John Ronkainen also worked in mining company and he was born in June 7th 1878 and died August 1964. John worked as miner during 1920s, as a labourer at copper smelting works during 1930s and as a smelt hand in 1940s.
If you have any work records of any of them or suggestions where I could look for them online, that would be great.
    Thanks,
    Anna-Elina

I am looking for a picture of my mother from the Class of 1986 Soumi College Nursing school. Her name is Carole LaPointe, it may be Olson at the time. It was printed in the Daily Mining Gazette in April or May of 1986. Any help would be great. Thank you!

I am searching for early records of my gg grandparents Brita (Bertha) Karhu and Charles Holm who lived in Calumet. They were newlyweds as of the 1880 census and Charles was employed as a miner. I cannot find a marriage or immigration record for either and they both state differing years for immigration, birth, birthplace etc on all the records I have found. Any help or advice is so appreciated.
    Thank you! Berry
