Scholarship: No-Spills Scholarship

* Please see attachment for a scholarship offer for students in biology, geology, environmental science, environmental engineering, and other environmental based fields at your respective academic institutions. *

This email is from No-Spills, the Northern Michigan Waterways Hazardous Materials Spill Planning Committee. Each year, the committee hosts a statewide conference held in the Northern Michigan area. The 2019 conference will be held January 30-February 1, 2019 at the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City.

This event is recognized as one of the premier environmental conferences conducted in the Midwest. Our conference provides education and case studies in environmental spill technologies, mitigation, planning and preparedness, environmental response and recovery issues.  Our conference provides networking opportunities with federal and state governmental agencies, private companies, tribal governments, and non-profit organizations involved in spill response and environmental stewardship.

This year we are offering a $500 scholarship opportunity for students interested in attending the conference. The scholarship winner will be offered free admission and lodging to attend the conference in addition to the scholarship award. The scholarship will be awarded on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, the first day of the conference.

If this email and attached information could be posted at your respective institution and shared with fellow staff and students who may be interested, that would be greatly appreciated. Applications can also be found at http://www.no-spills.org/. Deadline for scholarship submittal is January 4, 2019.

Thank you for your time and please feel free to reply with any questions or concerns. For further information regarding the No-Spills Committee and conference, please visit our website:  http://www.no-spills.org.
