Scholarships: Wisconsin Society of Land Surveying

The Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors (WSLS) Foundation and supporting vendors would like to announce scholarship opportunities for surveying students for the 2022-2023 school year (See Attached PDF).  Applications are currently being accepted through the WSLS website (see this link: https://www.wsls.org/scholarships).  Please feel free to contact me with any questions concerning these scholarships.

Last year we only awarded 5 of the 8 Annual Institute scholarships. We are hoping to have a better application turnout this year. Our goal is to help make an impact on the future of our profession.

Info Meeting: MSU College of Law (9/15)

If you have considered becoming a lawyer, or know that’s your goal, you are invited to meet with a representative from MSU College of Law on Thursday September 15th from 11:00am to 1:00pm in Room 204 of the Academic Office Bldg (Same Building as Business – just one floor up/)   If you are considering a future in law or have questions about MSU Law in general this will be a great opportunity to meet directly with a member of the MSU Law admissions team and get your questions about application process answered. This is open to all majors and all years!

Info Session: Barr Engineering (9/20/22)

Barr Engineering Co. will be on campus for the 2022 Fall Career Fair on Wednesday, September 21st and will be hosting an information session on Tuesday, September 20th from 5:00PM – 6:00PM in Grover C. Dillman Hall, Room 0320. Our representatives will provide a short presentation on who we are and what we do, as well as answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing your student group there!

From product design to software development, be a part of the emerging and exciting 21st century mobility industry. The Meet-UP will provide both business and talent an opportunity to discover ways to collaborate and work and learn from each other. 

The MI STEM Forward Internship Program is operated by Ann Arbor SPARK and made possible by a grant from the MEDC that offers financial support to companies hiring STEM interns. Students will be given a FREE ticket to the floor of the auto show!

Event: Introduction to Design Thinking

Get your creative energy flowing and join us for a design thinking event in which student teams practice innovation skills.  Design thinking is a human-centered design process used to solve challenging problems.  This interactive workshop will be held in the Alley Makerspace (MUB basement).

Job Posting: Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG)

SEMCOG is seeking a Modeler, Transportation Engineer, regional/urban Planner, or experienced professional with relevant experience to join the Transportation Modeling and Mobility group. SEMCOG Modelers run and analyze simulation models; code and apply models for the Regional
Transportation Plan and Transportation Improvement Program; perform transportation studies for partners; assist in model development activities including calibration, validation, and estimation; develop, maintain, and apply complex models in land use, transportation, or air quality analysis; integrate input for model runs; and produce modeling output for policy analysis.

Scholarship: Heritage Scholarship

The Ford Hispanic Network will be awarding a $1000 scholarship to 10 students pursuing a Business or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) undergraduate degree.
