Chemical Engineering Researchers Honored with 2026 Bhakta Rath Research Award

The Department of Chemical Engineering is proud to congratulate graduate student Grace Dykstra and faculty advisor Yixin Liu on being named recipients of the 2026 Bhakta Rath Research Award.

Presented by the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Bhakta Rath Research Award recognizes exceptional scholarship and research achievement by Michigan Tech graduate students and their faculty mentors. This award highlights innovative research efforts and the strong collaborative relationships that help advance discovery and impact across disciplines.

Grace and Yixin were recognized alongside the 2026 Michigan Tech Research Award recipient, Timothy Havens, during this year’s internal awards announcement.

The Department of Chemical Engineering celebrates this outstanding accomplishment and the continued research excellence demonstrated by Grace and Yixin. Their recognition reflects the department’s commitment to impactful research, student mentorship, and innovation that addresses important scientific and engineering challenges.
