Reporting to the Geotechnical Engineering Manager, or any other individual designated by the Company, the Geotechnical Engineer will assist with all aspects of geotechnical engineering, focusing on mine site rock storage facility engineering and mine pit geotechnical engineering. The Geotechnical Engineer will draw on broad industry experience to apply diversified engineering techniques to complex situations relying on principles and /or fundamentals of engineering theory to ensure practical solutions. Field Program Development & Oversight

Geotechnical Design & Engineering Studies

• Support and contribute to scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, and other mining project study phases.

• Develop geotechnical engineering standards, monitoring plans, and performance criteria to assess and manage site risks.

Risk Assessment & Technical Advisory

Project & Contract Management

• Manage project-related budgets associated with geotechnical programs and investigations.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the mining and/or consulting industry.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or active progress toward obtaining licensure, through a recognized professional engineering organization.
• Significant experience in rock storage facilities design.
• Experience in rock mechanics design for open pit mining (slope stability), geotechnical monitoring systems, and tailings geotechnical design considered an asset.
• Experience supporting Project Evaluation at the Scoping, Prefeasibility, Feasibility, and operational stages.
• Work experience in a setting similar to Northern Minnesota considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities
