They will be in Houghton on October 22 to discuss men’s role in gendered violence, how our culture supports violent acts, and what we can do to move forward. Chuck and Ed have both worked extensively with women and men in violence-related situations and now focus their energy on organizing men and boys as allies in the fight against violence. Both are interested in speaking to as many students, staff, faculty, and community members as they can about the causes, effects, and ways to end violence against women. I would like to invite you, and everyone you know, to a presentation at 7:30PM on Monday, October 22 on culture, violence, and how we can create a culture of respect.

Sustainability – Student Involvement Encouraged

Facilities Management has been charged with taking a fresh look at integrating sustainability into campus operations.  As part of that initiative, Facilities will be updating the student sustainability groups list that was created nearly three years ago. The list was last updated about one year ago and is available for review on the Facilities Management website at www.mtu.edu/facilities/energy/work-groups. Facilities is interested in having anyone who is currently involved in one of these groups to review the information listed there to see if any changes are in order.
We are also encouraging anyone with knowledge of a sustainable student group not currently listed to contact Jim Schultz (jschultz@mtu.edu) with this information. Once we update the lists, we will be providing additional information and seeking input from students on how we can all work together in making Michigan Tech a greener place.  We encourage students to get involved with their groups and with this effort to get greener.
