Need a course? Make it easier with advanced search

Find classes to meet your general education requirements.  Using the “Attribute Search” will help you find classes available for a particular semester.

Advanced functions are available to search for classes on this site here

After you select the term (Spring 2017, Summer 2017) you will go to the search functions (see picture below)

  1. SUBJECT:  Select multiple subjects by using the “Ctrl” + right click function or you can select all subjects with a left mouse click and highlight all subjects by dragging down.
  2. CAMPUS:  If wanting online courses select “MTU Online” in “Campus” search.   NOTE most online options are available in Summer terms.
  3. PART OF TERM:  AKA Track A (1st Half of Term) or Track B (2nd Half of Term) is helpful especially in Summer to select the track you would wish to take a class.
  4. ATTRIBUTE TYPE:  Finally…need a course to fulfill a particular General Education requirement (attribute) such as a HUFA (Humanities and Fine Arts) course? This can provide a list of courses available to fulfill a requirement for a particular semester.  TIP:  Select multiple subjects or subjects you are interested in

SBE Management Student Malcolm Gould Signs with Pro Hockey-Indy Fuel

Three members of the Michigan Tech hockey senior class have signed professional contracts to continue their hockey careers.

Alex Petan signed with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, while CJ Eick (Utah Grizzlies) and Malcolm Gould (Indy Fuel) have inked deals to play in the ECHL.

Petan, who is a Hobey Baker Memorial Award top-10 finalist, led the WCHA in goals (16), points (29), goals-per-game (0.59), points-per-game (1.07) and power-play points (13) en route to WCHA Player of the Year honors. The Delta, British Columbia, native also secured All-WCHA First Team and WCHA Scholar-Athlete recognition this winter.

Eick, a three-time WCHA Scholar-Athlete, moved to center this season and finished second on the team with 16 assists while appearing in all 37 games. The Appleton, Wisconsin, native tallied five multi-point games and career-high three assists on Feb. 20 at Bemidji State.

Gould earned a spot on an All-WCHA team for the second straight year after finishing second on the Huskies during the WCHA regular season with 22 points on seven goals and 15 assists. The forward collected five power-play goals and had a WCHA-leading plus-18 rating in conference action.

Yumuang, Management Student, Selected to All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Team

Michigan Tech men’s tennis senior Built Yumuang (Bangkok, Thailand) has been named to the All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Team, it was announced today Sunday by the league.Built

Yumuang compiled a 5-4 GLIAC record while playing at the No. 3 singles position for the Huskies this spring. Additionally, Yumuang notched a 4-5 in GLIAC matches at No. 2 doubles where he was paired with Nick Kremkow or Ricardo Paes.

The All-GLIAC Honorable Mention citation was the third in a row for Yumuang.

Michigan Tech finished the 2016 season with a 5-11 overall record.

Management Information Session

Dr. Dana Johnson and Dr. Sonia Goltz will be hosting an information session tomorrow – Wednesday, March 29 at 4:30 p.m.  The session will focus on the school’s BS degrees in Management.  Come to learn more about

  • Management
  • Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship
  • Management with a concentration in Supply Chain and Operations Management

This session is open to everyone and will take place in the Academic Office Building (AOB) 101. Pizza and soda will be provided.

Fall and Summer 2016 Registration

Fall Registration will begin towards the end of March.   Here is the Fall 2016 Priority Schedule  for registration.  Your registration time is based on your current credits earned (does not include current credits you are registered for).
Prior to Fall Advising Appointments
  • Run your Audit in Banweb (DARS)   *tip: Run “Latest” and not a possible program from the drop down menu
  • Review your Degree Requirements
  • Develop a proposed Fall course list
  • Note any questions or concerns about your Audit
  • Schedule an Advising Appointment if necessary (especially if a few semesters from graduation or have not met with an advisor in 2-3 semesters)
To schedule an appointment, go through Google Calendar.  
  • Use your Advisor, Jodie Filpus-Paakola’s email jrfilpus@mtu.edu in the guest invite on the right
  • View my availability against yours using “find a time” tab next to “event details” at the left
  • In the subject please indicate the following Last Name, First Name:  Advising
  • Please allow for 30-45 minutes for our appointment
Jodie will be holding walk in office hours during registration following Spring Break (no appointment needed)
Monday-Friday between hours of 9 a.m.-Noon and 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • March 14-18 and
  • March 21-25
Summer Registration has been available since the Fall.  If you plan to register for Summer courses please do this sooner rather than later.  Some departments are considering low course enrollment currently to make decisions if a course will get dropped from the Summer schedule.
