This position oversees the development of traffic signing plans developed by the unit and consultants to ensure uniform and comprehensible visual systems for these devices.

Next Step Ministries is a 501c3 nonprofit committed to help high school students grow closer to Christ through life-changing one-week mission trips, while being a part of long term community development in the communities we serve. We offer college students paid internship positions in construction, youth ministry, worship, and missional leadership.
A Next Step construction internship could be a great fit for your students, as we have hired students studying a variety of degrees such as: construction, engineering, architecture, and design for these positions over the years. This is a valuable, hands-on opportunity to lead community-focused building projects for hundreds of volunteers throughout nine week-long mission trips. Your students would be directly involved in each aspect of construction, including: on-site leadership, planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and management.You may have heard of this internship opportunity before as we have reached out to other departments at Michigan Technological University. Do you qualify?
At this point, Minnesota residency is still required for our scholarships for At-Large schools. The Minnesota Surveyors and Engineers Society (MSES) provides many scholarships, up to $2,000 each per year to students who will be juniors or seniors in Civil Engineering in the next academic year.
Applicants are expected to have a career interest in transportation. Job examples might include working for:
- governmental agencies (DOT’s, counties, cities, etc.),
- private engineering firms providing transportation related services (consultants),
- materials suppliers for the transportation industry,
- working for contractors or construction companies who build transportation facilities, etc.
Your work could be in any of the broad-based specialty areas that support transportation like:
- geotechnical engineering
- water resources/hydraulics
- transportation planning
- structural engineering
- roadway design
- environmental engineering
- ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems
- pavement design
- other related fields

Spicer Group will be hosting an Info Session from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Monday, February 19th, in Ballroom A-2 @ the MUB.
