NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program

Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 NSF Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program on “Designing for Safety and Safety by Design”. This eight-week summer program hosted at UC San Diego (La Jolla, CA) aims to immerse students in a highly interdisciplinary research environment in the field of engineered structures.

Jobs: The Waino Wahtera Center for Student Success

The Waino Wahtera Center for Student Success is starting the process for student hiring for the 2020-21 academic year. There are a variety of positions that we will be filling, including Orientation Team Leaders, ExSEL Peer Mentors, Academic Success Coaches and Peer Teaching Assistants.

Interested students must attend one of four information sessions where we will cover the position details and the hiring process:

  • Wednesday, December 4 at 12 PM in EERC 100

  • Friday, December 6 at 5 PM in Fisher 328

  • Thursday, January 16 at 5 PM in MUB Ballroom A

  • Friday, January 17 at 4 PM  in MUB Ballroom A

CEE Apparel Store is Open!

Attention MTU Civil & Environmental Engineering Department Students, Faculty and Alumni: the CEE Apparel Store is back open for two weeks only this fall, so get your orders in soon!

Before the store closes to new orders on November 30th, check out a selection of CEE-branded shirts, jackets and sweatshirts! Let everybody know that you’re a part of the best department on campus – many of the items are great outdoor wear or addition to business casual attire.

Shipping is available, as well as free local pickup on campus. Expected delivery in time for Christmas!

Summer 2020: GenEd Camp held at the Ford Center

Want to spend your summer in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan? Want to also get some of your Gen Ed requirements done? Join us during Summer Track A 2020 where you will live and study at the historic Ford Center in Alberta, Michigan (~40 minutes from Houghton, MI). Open to all Michigan Tech undergraduates.
