I found food scraps in the floor next to the AFM computer (MM632).
As a reminder food is not allowed in none of the ACMAL labs.

I’m happy to inform you that the AFM is up and running smoothly and is ready for use. Last Friday, our IT team successfully deployed the computer. This morning, Dr. Leftwich tested the AFM computer by collecting an image in AC mode in the air, and it appears to be functioning properly.
The computer updates on the AFM are going well. We will be working with IT early next week on the deploy and hope to have the instrument back up and running soon.
Thanks for your patience,
Liz
The reservation calendars for the AFM and FIB will no longer be merged. We’re splitting these two calendars. It’s important to note that this is a shared space, and both instruments might be in use simultaneously. If your research is highly sensitive, please make sure to book the room on both calendars.
The new calendars will be named:
Let me know if you have any questions,
The AFM is available for use.
The AFM computer is not currently working. MTU IT is aware of the problem. We will work with them to address the situation.
Until the issue is resolved, the instrument will not be available for use.
I am pleased to share that Dr. Leftwich was able to repair the Fiber-lite. The AFM is back online and available for use.
The Fiber-lite on the AFM isn’t working properly. I believe it may be a blown fuse. Unfortunately, I’m unable to find a replacement locally. I have placed an order online which is scheduled to arrive on Monday.
AFM repairs are completed. Dr. Leftwich was able to repair the Fiber-lite.
There is an issue with the Fiber-lite on the AFM. The instrument is offline until we’re able to fix the issue. It may just need a new bulb.
