Scholarship: MSES Student Scholarships

MSES is proud to announce its annual scholarship program available to college students pursuing a major/career in a transportation related field. 

2023-2024 MSES Scholarship

  • The 2023-2024 scholarship application is available at mses.org and is due February 13, 2023.
  • MSES Scholarship Program qualifications and guidelines are available through www.mses.org
  • Applications may be submitted through the available online form at www.mses.org.
  • Further questions regarding scholarship qualifications and the submission process may be directed to MSES Executive Director, Heidi Holste at info@mses.org

After the applications are received by MSES:

  • Following receipt of the written application, applications will be scored by MSES Scholarship committee members, see criteria on www.mses.org.
  • Top scoring applicants will be required to participate in a scheduled video/online interview between in March 2023 
  • Questions regarding interviews and scheduling may be directed to MSES Scholarship Chair, Kelly Agosto at kelly.agosto@hennepin.us.

Scholarship: Chicagoland Construction Scholarship Program

The Chicagoland Construction Scholarship Foundation (CCSF) supports future construction leaders by offering renewable scholarships to qualified college students studying construction management or engineering. This scholarship program commenced in 2003 and has awarded over $400,000 to more than 80 students. Scholarships will be a maximum of $4,000 per student per year and may be renewable for up to two years of undergraduate study toward a degree in an approved construction curriculum.

The current online application for the Chicagoland Construction Scholarship Foundation will close in three weeks on December 1st.  Please encourage your current sophomores and juniors pursuing construction-related careers to apply.

Scholarship: National Society of Professional Foundation (NSPSF)

Each year, through the National Society of Professional Surveyors Foundation (NSPSF), over $30,000 in scholarships funded by a variety of individuals, companies, and organizations are made available to encourage and support college education in geospatial sciences. These scholarships are a great opportunity for college students in surveying, mapping, geographic information systems, and geodetic science programs. The deadline to submit is January 21, 2023.

Scholarship: Michigan Stormwater-Floodplain Association 2022/2023 Scholarship

Each year the Michigan Stormwater-Floodplain Association (MSFA) awards at least one scholarship to a full time junior, senior, or graduate student studying biosystems, civil or environmental engineering; or a related natural resource planning program with a specialization related to the mission and goals of the MSFA at a Michigan University. This year’s scholarship award amount is $4,000.

The MSFA Scholarship Application can be submitted virtually on the MSFA website (Academic Scholarships – Michigan Stormwater-Floodplain Association (mifloods.org)).

In addition, the Association of State Floodplain Managers Foundation has announced the opening of the Future Leaders Scholarship Application for up to $20,000.

Scholarship: ITE Michigan Section

ITE Michigan Section Scholarship Applications – 2022

Things to do
• Complete the attached one-page application form (Page 2)
• Prepare a one-page double-spaced on My Future in Transportation
• A short biography (150 words or less) and a photo
• One-page resume
• Submit the form, paper, a short bio with a photo, and a resume to Dr. Kuilin Zhang (klzhang@mtu.edu) by November 4, 2022 – he will review the application, complete a Professor/Advisor form, and send your package to ITE Michigan by November 11, 2022.

Note: Applicant must be a student member of ITE International.
To become an ITE International Student Member, complete an application online (ITE Web site: www.ite.org) as soon as possible.

APAM Scholarship Program ensures the future of the asphalt industry and that of asphalt as
America’s leading choice in paving materials.

Purpose
• An incentive for students to be interested in the asphalt paving industry
• A workforce with training in asphalt technology; and
• An incentive for colleges/universities to offer training in asphalt technology

Eligibility
• The scholarship program currently provides funding for undergraduate or graduate
students. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year
college or university or two-year technical institution in Michigan and interested in
pursuing a career in the HMA Paving Industry.
• Financial need will not be considered and scholarship awards are renewable up to two
years or graduation, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic
performance and continued eligibility for the program.

Scholarship: MTU Rail Transportation Program (First Year Scholarship) Deadline Extended

First year students, the Michigan Tech Rail Transportation Program is offering up to four $500 scholarships this fall.  The application is attached to this email, and the deadline for applications has been extended to Friday, October 14, 2022.  These scholarships are renewable each year that the applicant remains involved with the Rail Transportation Program, and participates in the Railroad Engineering and Activities Club.  Scholarship renewals will increase to $1000 in the second year, $1500 in the third year, and $1500 again in the fourth year.  Details are at  http://rail.mtu.edu/rail-industry-scholarships#overlay-context=education  I’ve also attached the flyer for this scholarship program.  Let me know if you have any questions!
