Scholarship: Environmental Engineering and Science Foundation Scholarships

The Environmental Engineering and Science Foundation (EESF) has as its Mission “to secure and direct resources to advance environmental engineering and science in the areas of research, education and practice”. Towards that end, the Board of EESF has created six annual scholarships for Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science students at the undergraduate and Master’s levels.

A $2,500 scholarship is being offered in each of the following categories:

  • Undergraduate Environmental Engineering*
  • Undergraduate Environmental Science*
  • Master’s level Environmental Engineering
  • Master’s level Environmental Science
  • Master’s level Environmental Engineering for Under-Represented Minority (URM) Students
  • Master’s level Environmental Science for Under-Represented Minority (URM) Students

*The two undergraduate scholarships will target students transferring from Community Colleges.

Scholarship: ITE International Student Paper Award

Attached are the requirements for the ITE International student paper award (Daniel Fambro Student Paper) .  The Michigan Section follows the same rules and format.

The Michigan Section awards $500 for first place and $300 for second place.  As the attached flow chart shows deadline for submitting paper to me for the Michigan award is March 1. I will then send them on to the Great Lake district for judging and possible submission for the international Award.

Scholarship: MSES

MSES Scholarship School Participants:

MSES is proud to announce its annual scholarship program available to college students pursuing a major/career in a transportation related field.  The scholarship requirements and application can be accessed here:  https://www.mses.org/scholarship-requirements.html.

2021-2022 MSES Scholarship

  • The 2021-2022 scholarship application is available at mses.org and is due February 5, 2021.
  • MSES Scholarship Program qualifications and guidelines are available through www.mses.org
  • Applications may be submitted through the available online form at www.mses.org.

After the applications are received by MSES:

  • Following receipt of the written application, applications will be scored by MSES Scholarship committee members, see criteria on www.mses.org.
  • Top scoring applicants will be required to participate in a scheduled video/online interview between March 8, 2021- March 22, 2021.  We hope to return to live interviews in the future.

Scholarship: AGC Michigan

Thanks to the generosity of AGC Michigan members and friends, the AGC Michigan Education Endowment Fund awards numerous scholarships each year to CM and CE students studying at Michigan universities. Please help us spread the word about scholarship opportunities for the 2021-2022 school year.

The applicant must:     
1) be a college sophomore or junior. (Junior-level applicants must have one full academic year of coursework remaining at the beginning of the fall 2021 term.)     

2) desire a career in the construction industry.     

3) be pursuing a BS degree-granting program in construction management or civil engineering at an ACCE- or ABET-accredited Michigan college or university.     

4) be enrolled full-time (part-time students are not eligible for awards).

Michigan Tech Rail Transportation Program Railroad Scholarships

These scholarships are proudly sponsored by the CN Endowment Fund and by generous donations from our other industry supporters and friends. This year’s program will feature a dedicated scholarship for at least one Michigan Tech freshman student interested in pursuing a career with the rail industry. They will also continue to fund at least two scholarships for other Michigan Tech students with interests in the railroad industry.

Amount of Award: Each scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $1,000.

Eligibility: Applicants for the Railroad Scholarships must be an undergraduate student at Michigan Tech University in good standing and interested in the railroad industry. Open to all
disciplines.

ITE Michigan Section Scholarship

ITE Michigan Section Scholarship Applications – 2020

The Michigan Section of ITE is offering four $3,000 scholarships for its 28th Annual Scholarship Program. These scholarships are for both graduate and undergraduate students.

Things to do

•        Complete the attached one-page application form

•        Prepare a one-page double spaced on My Future in Transportation

•        A short biography (150 words or less) and photo

•        One-page resume

•        Submit the form, paper, a short bio with photo, and a resume to Dr. Kuilin Zhang (klzhang@mtu.edu) by November 13, 2020 – he will review the application, complete a Professor/Advisor form, and send your package to ITE Michigan by November 20, 2020.

MCC Scholarships

Minnesota Concrete Council (MCC) is committed to encouraging students to pursue careers in concrete-related fields and to enhance the level of professionalism and industry engagement of our Minnesota students.  MCC is pleased to announce that they are accepting applications for our Engineering Scholarship and our Construction Management Scholarship. The scholarships can range in value from $1,000 to $4,000. (MCC reserves the right to adjust the number and monetary value of its scholarships.) In addition to the cash scholarship prize, MCC will provide a complimentary one- year MCC student membership and complimentary registrations for all MCC continuing education opportunities for one year to the scholarship winner(s).

Scholarship Criteria
Student’s home address must be in Minnesota OR student must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary Minnesota school (College or University).

Student must be pursuing an education in technical/professional fields associated with the cast-in-place concrete industry (Engineering or Construction Management).

Student must have an interest in concrete materials and/or concrete construction.

Submission Process and Timeline

Selected applicants will be interviewed in person or by web connection by January 22, 2021.

Scholarship: AGC Education and Research Foundation

Deadline: November 01 2020 at 11:59 PM EST (Midnight)

DESCRIPTION

The scholarships for undergraduates are $2,500 per year ($1,250 if you have half a semester) and can be renewed for up to three years. Graduate awards are $3,750 annually up to a maximum of $7,500.

The application will open July 1, 2020 and must be submitted by midnight EST on November 1, 2020. This scholarship is for the 2021-2022 academic year that begins fall 2021. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be notified in February 2021. The next step is an interview with a contractor in your area. Following the interview, scholarship recipients will be selected and announced in March 2021. Students will receive their awards in the fall of 2021.

There are two very important things to remember:
1.) You must meet the criteria to apply as an Undergraduate or Graduate.
2.) Make sure that your recommenders (one teacher and one employer) know that you are requesting their recommendation. Your application is not considered submitted until all sections are complete and you hit the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom of the page. You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been submitted.

Scholarship: OHM Diversity Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Woman or minority as defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Program (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian or Pacific Islander, Multi-racial)
  • Open to high school seniors through college juniors
  • Must be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in a STEM Program or other related field of practice at OHM Advisors the following academic year
  • Cumulative average grade of a B (3.0 GPA) at the time of application is beneficial but not mandatory

Scholarship Award

  • $1,000 educational scholarship
  • Number of scholarships awarded varies based on the number of applicants 
  • Special consideration is given to applicants living near an OHM Advisors office location
  • Previous winners may reapply!
