Scholarship: IMAGIN

IMAGIN Scholarship

The IMAGIN Scholarship is awarded in recognition of outstanding student scholarship in Geographic Information / Geospatial Sciences. The $500 scholarship is supported by members and conference attendees through contributions to the IMAGIN scholarship fund. Any student enrolled in a Michigan College or University, graduate or undergraduate is eligible for the award.  Awards for both graduate and undergraduate may be awarded in a single year, based upon the review committee’s recommendation. 

The 2022 IMAGIN Scholarship program is now open and students can complete the IMAGIN Scholarship Application below.   All applications are due by Friday, May 13, 2022 at 5:00 pm.  Two (2) $500 scholarships will be awarded for 2022, with one targeted to an undergraduate student and the other for a graduate level student.

Scholarship: SEAMi

Eligibility

SEAMi is offering a minimum of (2) $2,000 Scholarships to any current Undergraduate Civil Engineering Student focusing in Structural Engineering at an ABET Accredited Michigan College or University.

Note: Michigan residency is not a requirement to apply.

Procedure

Completed Applications including full transcripts must be received no later than April 11, 2022 at the mailing or e-mail address noted on the Application.

Applications will be reviewed by impartial judges and winners will be chosen based on:

  • Academic Performance
  • Future Goals and Aspirations
  • Current and Past Activities

Notification

Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than May 1, 2022, by written letter.

Scholarship Recipients are invited and encouraged to attend the SEAMi Statewide Conference.

SEAMi Scholarship Application

Scholarship: ASCE Wisconsin Technical Branch

ELIGIBILITY

  • Applicants must have permanent residence within one of the following counties (which comprise the Northwest Branch limits): Adams, Barron, Buffalo, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Iron, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Lincoln, Marathon, Monroe, Oneida, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Portage, Price, Rusk, St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau, Vilas, or Wood. The map shows those counties in white.
  • Applicants must have completed, or will complete in the present semester/quarter, at least one full academic year of study in the engineering curriculum.
  • Applicants must be attending, or plan to attend in the following semester/quarter, one of the following ABET accredited engineering institutions: University of Wisconsin – Madison, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin – Platteville, University of Minnesota—Twin Cities, University of Minnesota — Mankato, Michigan Technological University, Marquette University, or Milwaukee School of Engineering.
  • The scholarship will be awarded to one applicant, selected by the Northwest Branch Scholarship Committee, from all applicants meeting the eligibility criteria. Selection will be based on the applicant’s demonstrated interest in the profession as reflected by the application responses and the letter of recommendation.

Keweenaw Community Foundation’s 2022 scholarships

Alec Fisher Scholarship, for junior or senior students studying Environmental Engineering or Management Information Systems

The Bernard F. Gaffney Memorial Scholarship, for local Houghton High School graduates (current or past graduates) could also be awarded to a current MTU student.

Scholarship: ASCE (Mackinac & Zudema)

The Michigan Section of the ASCE encourages the advancement of the Civil Engineering profession by qualified and interested students. To that end, the ASCE Michigan Section offers financial support through two scholarships. These scholarships have been endowed through the efforts and generosity of individual Civil Engineers and leading Civil Engineering companies throughout Michigan. Applications are due by Memorial Day.

Mackinac Scholarship

Named in honor of Michigan’s #1 Civil Engineering Project of the 20th Century by the ASCE Michigan Section membership in December 1999, the Mackinac Scholarship is intended to recognize a premier Civil Engineering student from Michigan. The award will be presented annually, and will consist of a two-year grant of $5,000 each year (totaling $10,000 over a two-year period) to a student entering his or her junior year at an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program. The award considers merit, personal initiative, and financial need and encourages both participation in a student chapter of ASCE and contributions to the advancement of student engineering.

Zuidema Scholarship

Named in honor of an outstanding Past-President of the Michigan Section and the Western Michigan Branch of ASCE, the Marvin L. Zuidema Scholarship Award is presented annually to a student member of ASCE who has made a contribution to the advancement of student engineering activities. This award will consist of a one-time grant of $1,500, and considers academic performance as an indication of preparation for a future career in Civil Engineering. The Zuidema scholarship is available to either a junior or senior in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.

Scholarship: IAAP (Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers)

Each year the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers awards up to five scholarships of at least $2,000.  These scholarships are a one-year grant for direct educational expenses.  Students may re-apply in subsequent years. Applications for these scholarships are due January 4, 2022

Scholarship: United States Society on Dams (USSD)

Attached is our 2022 Student Scholarship Award Call for Applications. Please consider applying for it if you are a student, or sharing it with others if you are not a student. Application deadline is Monday, February 28, 2022.

Scholarships are open to junior or senior undergraduate students and graduate students pursuing a Masters or PhD. Applicants will be judged based on expectations commensurate with their current education level in order to provide equal opportunities.

Scholarship: Northeast Chapter of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors

On behalf of the Northeast Chapter of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors, I am happy to announce, and provide to you, application materials for two $750 scholarships that the Chapter is offering for 2022.  I would ask that you please forward this information to your students as soon as you are able.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Scholarship: NSPS/AAGS Scholarship

The application is now available for NSPS and AAGS scholarships. A student may apply for more than one application with the form, but please make sure that they only apply for the scholarships that they are eligible for. Scholarships are available for students in 2-year, 4-year, and graduate programs in surveying or related fields.
