FVPL Annual Meeting features talk by Mary Durfee

The annual meeting of the Friends of the Van Pelt Library will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, in the East Reading Room of the J. R. Van Pelt and John and Ruanne Opie Library. Everyone is welcome to attend. This year’s meeting features a talk, “Malta: The Surprising Little Country that Can,” by Associate Professor Mary Durfee (SS). Durfee taught at the University of Malta as a Fulbright Scholar in 2007-08, and since then she has been a visiting professor at least once a year. In spring 2012, she co-led a study tour of the country for the Society for Industrial Archeology.

Public Forum on Proposal 3: Michigan’s Renewable Energy Ballot Initiative

The campus community is invited to an educational forum on Proposal 3, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, October 25, in Forestry G002. This event is sponsored by the Graduate Program in Environmental and Energy Policy, the Sustainable Futures Institute, the Power and Energy Research Center and the League of Women Voters of the Copper Country.
