SDC Fitness Studio & SDC Shooting Range
This is the course you must take to get your Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL). This is the premier course in the state of Michigan. The Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners (MCRGO) course covers what you need to know for carrying in open spaces. Not just what to do in your home, but what to do in the parking lot, in the alley, etc. We also add in things we teach our other courses that we feel you are going to need to know, doing our best to help prepare you to prevail in any encounter. Rental equipment available for an additional fee. Students will receive a copy of the course material on the day of class. No experience necessary. Class size is limited and based on social distancing.
- Minimum age 20 years old
- Individuals are responsible for supplying their own ammunition (100 rounds)
- There will be a firearms proficience test and a written test that students have to pass to complete the course.
- Students agree to comply with all commands issued on the range and in the classroom.

Adult Huskies Swim Clinic provides additional attention and competitive guidance to swimmers ages 18 and older who are looking to improve their swimming skills and fitness levels in a group setting. Each session is programmed with warm-up, skill work, and variations of a workout for the beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmer. Participants will be provided coaching and guidance to meet their individual swimming goals!

Cost $60
Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-7:50pm, at the SDC Pool.

The COVID-19 Visitor Symptom Tracking Form is required to be completed by all participants before every class session. Masks are required throughout the building except while swimming or showering. Space will be provided for personal items on the pool deck. Class size is limited and based on social distancing.
Beginning Monday, February 1, the SDC Pool schedule will change to the following hours:
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday 7am-9am, 5pm-7pm
- Tuesday/Thursday 6am-9am, 11am-1pm, 5pm-7pm
- Saturday/Sunday 12pm-4pm
Adult only lap swim (ages 16+). Hours are for MTU students, members, and action pass holders combined.

Parent & Child Aquatics (ages 6 months – 3 years): Familiarizes children with the water and teaches swimming readiness skills. Provides safety information for parents and teaches techniques parents can use to help orient their children to the water.
Preschool Aquatics (ages 4-5 years): Designed to orient young preschoolers to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic aquatic skills. In addition, participants start learning how to be safe around water.
Parent & Child Aquatics and Preschool Aquatics meets Saturdays, 9-9:40am, in the SDC Pool. A parent is required to be in the water with each child.
Huskies Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-4 (ages 6-17 years) are based on skill, from beginners to those refining strokes learned in previous levels. A parent is required to be in the water with participants in levels 1 and 2. Classes meet Saturday mornings at the SDC Pool, 10-10:40am or 11-11:40am options.
Junior Huskies Swim Clinic (ages 6-17 years) provides additional attention and competitive guidance to proficient swimmers who are looking to improve their swimming skills and fitness levels. Participants must be able to swim unassisted for at least 25 yards, tread water for at least 1 minute and have swimming knowledge and ability equivalent to Level 5 of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program or higher. Classes meet Saturdays, 8-8:40am.

The fitness center, multi, racquetball courts & pool (lap swim only) are currently open to MTU students, members & action pass holders. Gates Tennis Center is open to MTU students & Gates members. Daily court fees are also available.
The SDC will observe reduced hours over winter break beginning Saturday, December 19 and ending Sunday, January 10. Regular building hours will resume Monday, January 11.
The fitness center, multi, racquetball courts and pool (lap swim only) are currently open to MTU students, members & action pass holders. No new day passes, action passes or memberships are being sold at this time.
