Dear Class of 1960
As you may be aware, 2020 marks the 60th anniversary of graduating from Michigan Tech and the Keweenaw of our youth. The Class of 1960 will celebrate these past 60 years and return to Houghton August 6-8, 2020, for our reunion. You and our classmates have gone on to do some amazing things, and I look forward to hearing about what we’ve all been up to. The weekend will be a great chance for us to reconnect, see the changes on campus, and enjoy the hospitality of the Copper Country once again.
It is also a long-standing Michigan Tech tradition for the 60th anniversary class to hold a special gift effort to commemorate our milestone. I personally invite all members of the Class of 1960 to make a contribution in support of the reunion gift program and to honor all that we have achieved.
You may remember that a Class of 1960 Endowed Scholarship Fund was set up years ago. Throughout the years this fund, which carries a current balance of $186,819, has awarded $70,281 in tuition support to 47 Michigan Tech students.
I’ll be in touch with details of our reunion as well as the progress of our gift effort. I’m looking forward to returning to Houghton and my alma mater, and I’m sure you, like me, have many great memories. Let’s do all we can to make this a memorable reunion celebration for our entire class.
