Join Allison for Spin, a fast-paced music driven class where you’re guaranteed a sweat session that keeps you motivated and having fun. Spin class will teach the basics of biking and will challenge participants’ aerobic fitness through climbing, sprinting and power workouts while using music to motivate and provide engaging workouts.

    HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

    Join Allision for HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) Wednesday and Friday at 7am in the SDC Fitness Studio!

    HIIT is a high energy, full-body workout incorporating aerobic and resistance training in one session. Burn calories and build strength utilizing kettlebells, dumbbells, resistance bands and body weight.

    Get Your Erg On!

    Get your Erg on! Join members of the MTU Rowing Club as they guide you through the basics of rowing technique and coach you through fun and challenging workout sessions — all on the SDC’s brand new Ergometers (Ergs)! Initial sessions will focus on general stroke technique and progress to workouts that represent on-water sprints and head races. Open to all skill levels. Indoor rowing is a great full-body workout that can be adjusted to meet the abilities of almost anyone!

  • Registration Now Open for Michigan Tech Aquatics Fall Programming

    Huskies Group Swim Lessons

    Huskies Group Swim Lessons are now open for registration! American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-4 are being offered at the SDC Pool on Saturday mornings beginning October 17. Social distancing will be maintained during classes and instructors will remain on the pool deck. A parent is required to be in the water with participants in levels 1 and 2.

    Days/Times

    Saturday’s: October 17th, 24th, 31st, November 7th, 14th (REVISED – Due to the fluidity of the situation, we will be issuing refunds closer to the session start date.)

    Cost $60 per participant (discount available for current SDC members!)

    Deadline to register: October 14, 2020, at 11:59pm

    Junior Huskies Swim Clinic

    Junior Huskies Swim Clinic provides additional attention and competitive guidance to proficient swimmers ages 6-17 who are looking to improve their swimming skills and fitness levels. Participants must be able to swim unassisted for at least 25 yards, tread water for at least 1 minute and have swimming knowledge and ability equivalent to Level 5 of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program or higher.

    Days/Times

    Saturdays, 9-9:40am: October 17th, 24th,31st, November 7th, 14th (REVISED – Due to the fluidity of the situation, we will be issuing refunds closer to the session start date.)

    Adult Huskies Swim Clinic

    Adult Huskies Swim Clinic provides additional attention and competitive guidance to swimmers ages 18 and up who are looking to improve their swimming skills and fitness levels in a group setting. Each session is programmed with warm-up, skill work, and variations of a workout for the beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmer. Participants will be provided coaching and guidance to meet their individual swimming goals!

    Days/Times

    Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-7:50pm

    Session 1: October 13th, 15th,20th, 22nd (REVISED – Due to the fluidity of the situation, we will be issuing refunds closer to the session start date.)

    Session 2: October 27th, 29th, November3rd, 5th, 10th, 12th

    Cost $60 per participant (discount available for current SDC members!)

    Deadline to register: October 11, 2020, at 11:59pm

    The COVID-19 Visitor Symptom Tracking Form is required to be completed by all participants and guardians before every class session. Participants are asked to arrive at the pool already changed into their bathing suits. Locker rooms will only be available after class sessions. Masks are required on the pool deck but not permitted in the water while swimming. Masks are also required in the locker room except for showering. Space will be provided for personal items on the pool deck. Class size is limited and based off of social distancing.
