Second Annual Enterprise Awards Now Accepting Nominations

The Enterprise Program Office and the Enterprise Student Advisory Board are pleased to announce the second annual Enterprise Awards. The Enterprise Awards were developed to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts and accomplishments of Enterprise students, faculty, staff, and sponsors in the following categories:

Student Awards

  • Outstanding Leadership
  • Rookie Award
  • Innovative Solutions Award
  • Industry/Sponsor Relations

Faculty/Staff/Sponsor Awards

  • Outstanding Enterprise Advisor
  • Outstanding Sponsor
  • Behind the Scenes
  • Module Master

Enterprise students, advisors, faculty and staff can nominate deserving candidates by submitting this nomination form. Nominations must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, March 29. Nominators may collect up to three letters of support from others to strengthen their nomination. Each support letter should be no longer than one page, single-spaced. Student nominees must be currently enrolled in the Enterprise Program in order to be considered for an award.

An awards committee comprised of faculty and staff involved in the Enterprise Program will review nominations and select winners based on how well they support the given award criteria. Award recipients will receive a framed award certificate, lapel pin, and $100 cash prize (sponsors will receive a University memento in lieu of cash). All nominees will be recognized, and awards will be presented at the conclusion of the Design Expo on April 18, 2019 at 3:15pm in the MUB Ballroom.

When: 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 5th

All Majors are welcome on our team. We are in need of students with a background in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Network and System Administration, Business/Marketing and Scientific and Technical Communication.
The info session will be short and include a lab tour. Food will be provided.

An awards committee comprised of faculty and staff involved in the Enterprise Program reviewed nominations and selected winners based on how well they supported the given award criteria. Award winners, as well as nominees, were announced and presented at the conclusion of the Design Expo last Thursday, April 19.

2. ENT2961 (2 credits) & ENT2962 (1 credit) are approved on the Restricted HASS list. Please see your academic advisor for more details on applying these toward your degree.

Spring 2018 Enterprise Scholarship Applications are now Open!

The Enterprise Program has two scholarship opportunities available for students below.

  1. Carnahan Enterprise Scholarships: The Enterprise Program is now accepting Spring 2018 applications for the Carnahan Enterprise Scholarship. This scholarship is open to Business and Humanities majors who enroll in the Enterprise Program. Please review the scholarship description and application form for details. The deadline for applications is 5pm Friday March 2 (week 7).
  2. Enterprise ‘Above and Beyond’ Scholarships: The Enterprise Program is now accepting Spring 2018 applications for the ‘Above and Beyond’ Scholarship. Formerly the ‘Super Senior’ scholarship, this scholarship has been expanded and aims to recognize Enterprise students whose participation in their team goes above and beyond the norm. ArcelorMittal Steel Warehouse Program

AMLOGO“Steel Warehouse”

ArcelorMittal is the world’s largest steel producer and a sponsor of numerous enterprise and senior design project teams at Michigan Tech. To support a wider range of project teams, ArcelorMittal conceived the “Steel Warehouse” concept to supply steel to student teams throughout the Michigan Tech campus. This program is managed by the Enterprise Program Office in the Pavlis Honors College.

  •  Any enterprise or senior project team may request steel (and only steel) for their project.
  •  To enable support of many teams across campus, requests are limited to $500. Requests > $500 may be considered for approval, depending upon availability of funds and total number of requests received.

**NOTE: The approval and ordering processes have changed.**

2nd Annual 3D Printed Aircraft Competition: Registration Deadline Jan. 31

Graduate and undergraduate individuals and teams from all universities are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual 3D Printed Aircraft Competition hosted at the University of Texas at Arlington.  Dates and prize details are provided below and in the attached flyer.  Rules and online entry are available at www.uta.edu/mae/events.php
