L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship program

The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program recognizes and rewards the contributions women make in STEM fields and identifies exceptional women researchers committed to serving as role models for younger generations.  More than 2,250 women scientists in over 110 countries have been recognized since the program began in 1998. 
In the US, the For Women In Science fellowship program awards five post‐doctoral women scientists annually with grants of $60,000 each. Applicants are selected from a variety of fields, including the life and physical/material sciences, technology (including computer science), engineering, and mathematics. Applications are due on Friday, February 5th, 2016.

 

Mount Vernon Leadership Fellows

The Mount Vernon Leadership Fellows program is a competitive five week long summer leadership program that takes place just outside of Washington, D.C. at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellows Program

The AAAS seeks to increase public understanding of science and technology. They recognize the need for scientists who are able to communicate complex ideas to a general audience. The AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellows Program is a 10-week summer program that places college and university students at all levels of their education who focus on science, engineering and/or mathematics at media organizations nationwide. Fellows use their academic training as they research, write, and report today’s headlines, sharpening their abilities to communicate complex scientific issues to the public. Past AAAS Fellows have worked with such media outlets as the Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, Philadelphia Inquirer, WIREDand Scientific American. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Summer Internships

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate Office of University Programs sponsors a 10-week summer internship program for students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) disciplines. The program provides students with quality research experiences at federal research facilities located across the country and allows students the opportunity to establish connections with DHS professionals. It is open to undergraduate and graduate students in a broad spectrum of HS-STEM disciplines and DHS mission-relevant Research Areas.

Undergraduate students receive a $6,000 stipend plus travel expenses. Graduate students receive a $7,000 stipend plus travel expenses.
